After a successful CS:GO tournament in March, Pinnacle is back with a bang. This time, however, Pinnacle is looking to expand its position in esports with a Dota 2 tournament. Attracting big names in the CS:GO tournament, it won’t be an issue getting such participation for Dota 2 either.
Pinnacle is a popular sports and esports betting platform. With over 20 years of presence in the betting industry, Pinnacle is definitely a household name. It has attracted betters from over 100 countries with thousands of bets taking place every day. They expanded to esports betting in 2010. Ever since then, Pinnacle has established itself as one of the pioneers of esports betting. However, since earlier this year, they have set their eyes on organizing esports events as well.
The CS:GO Pinnacle Cup
Earlier this year in March, Pinnacle hosted The Pinnacle Cup. It was a massive tournament that Pinnacle hosted in collaboration with GRID, Relog Media, and Trustly. It had a $100k prize pool that was split between the top teams. The tournament attracted huge names such as GODSENT, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Nemiga, and much more. In the end, Gambit Esports won the tournament with HAVU Gaming ending up in second place.
The Dota 2 Pinnacle Cup
After a successful CS:GO tournament, it’s no surprise that Pinnacle is back with more. The CEO of Pinnacle, Paris Smith commented in a press release: “There is no better way for us to continue this journey, than branching out into Dota 2, where we can continue offering fans the best connection to their favourite esports teams and players.”
Last week, Pinnacle announced their Dota 2 tournament comprising of 12 teams. 10 of those teams will start off in a round-robin format, with the rest 2 teams joining them in the knockout stages. This tournament will also have a whopping $100k prize pool. The competition will be kicking off on 5th May and the semi-finals and final will take place on 30th May. Big names will be playing it out in this tournament including Viking.gg, Spirit, Hellbear Smashers, and more. Pinnacle will continue its partnership with Relog Media for this Dota 2 tournament as well.
Dota 2 fans must be pretty excited for they’ll be witnessing a huge tournament next month. Who do you think will be taking home the Pinnacle Cup?
